Chestnut Mews is situated on the edge of Shanklin Old Village, adjoining extensive National Trust land, including many well known natural attractions such as the Devil's Chimney, The Under cliff, Shanklin Chine, St. Boniface Down, etc, much of which are designated as areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Special Scientific Interest.
Jasmine and Honeysuckle Cottages are a fabulous location for families and adults. Relax in a tranquil setting or discover the beauty of the Isle of Wight and all it has to offer, be it walking, hiking, cycling, bus, train or car, Chestnut Mews is an ideal base.
For a change of pace, why not leave the car at home and enjoy the local area. Chestnut Mews is only 10 minutes walk via Rhylstone Gardens to the beautiful Apply Beach (southern end of Shanklin Beach), 5 minutes walk to the heart of the Old Village with its traditional thatched cottages, tea rooms, pubs, restaurants and gift shops. The bridle path and footpath located at the bottom of our drive link you to the Islands many miles of well-maintained routes.
Both cottages are spacious and well equipped with a large living area. The lounge opens out to a decked area overlooking the large mature gardens. If you are quiet you may get to see some of the local inhabitants including red squirrels which can even be seen on your terrace, rabbits, moor hens, wood peckers, etc. There is also a children s play area and wooden playhouse in the garden to entertain the little ones. The cottages are 3 bedrooms (one en suite) and can easily accommodate up to six guests and have stair gates fitted to the top and bottom of the stairs. Travel cot and high chair are also available.
